Cassandra Milbrandt has a wide variety of media experience, from television broadcast to feature film production/PR to promotional advertising and short documentary. Recently having graduated from Birkbeck, University of London, Cassandra is also an alumna of the University of Northern Iowa, where she graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Electronic Media.
Most recently, Cassandra has spent time working with Producer Sarah Sulick of Bright Pictures in London, England. Cassandra liaised with the London industry professionals at Multimedia and Platform Entertainment to coordinate publicity for Sulick’s award-winning film Honeytrap, which premiered at both the London Film Festival in 2014 and SXSW, garnering critical acclaim from sources like Sight&Sound and The Guardian. During her time at Bright Pictures, Cassandra researched film distribution and development for the upcoming film The Time of Their Lives, and redesigned the Bright Pictures’ website: www.brightpictures.co.uk.
Cassandra also worked for the BFI London Film Festival in the autumn of 2015, along side the Delegate Services team.
Although she has gained experience internationally, Cassandra has roots in her home of Iowa where she worked for At KCRG-TV9 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as an Assistant Director. This role gave her exposure to the wider network of television news, and liaising interdepartmentally allowed her to gain access to the whole process of creating live, television broadcasts.
Stories are Cassandra’s passion. She loves telling deserving stories with integrity and enthusiasm. Her short documentary won the Iowa Motion Picture Association’s highest award, the Award of Excellence for Nolan. The film was created following the philosophy that if she expects others to put their stories in her hands, she should lead by example, exercising vulnerability as an artist and professionalism as a creator.
